THE MISSION
Unleashing the power of the Bible in people's lives by letting it speak for itself.
|
The Outloud Bible Project is on a mission to read the entire Bible the way it was meant to be heard: out loud, in an approachable and conversational way. Through short-form videos, online resources, and live presentations, readers will be able to take ownership of their understanding of the Bible so they can grow in the life God has for them.

About Outloud Bible Project
Why out loud?
Frustrated by the lack of engagement by people in his church, the Archbishop of Canterbury, in 1675, approached famous actor Thomas Betterton (the Tom Hanks of his day). He asked Betterton why people in theatres would laugh, cry, think, and be transformed, but people in church would stare blankly and walk out unchanged. Check out his response:
The Bible was never meant to stay words on a page. It was meant to be shared and spoken, up front and out loud in people's lives. Ezra read the Book of the Law on stage to an entire city, and they were moved to tears and action (Nehemiah 8:3-6). Timothy was told to devote himself to the public reading of Scripture (1 Timothy 4:13).
The Bible is a conversation between you and your loving Creator. By experiencing the Bible out loud, with the emotions and urgency of its author, you can recognize your role in this conversation, and begin to better understand your relationship with God.

Live Productions of Entire Books of the Bible
The final phase of the Outloud Bible Project will be to produce fully-memorized performances of straight Scripture. I've performed Galatians Live a handful of times, involving the musical talents of some very good friends. With your support, we'll be able to offer more transformational experiences on platforms across the country.

Galatians is now fixed in my heart in a remarkably fresh way. Michael is a master at his craft! Our church and community came to see a performance. They left with a greater understanding of Scripture. |
